A few showers will be around today and Friday, but most of the day will be dry. High temperatures will stay in the middle 80s with only a touch of humidity, so many of us will still feel comfortable. Rain chances increase with batches of downpours off the Atlantic this weekend, especially Sunday and Monday. The bigger issue for South Florida will be increasing winds. Gusts are expected to range from 30-40 mph this weekend with the highest winds on Sunday. This will create dangerous surf with large breaking waves of 5-8 feet. During high tide, the majority of our beaches will be covered with water with the potential for significant saltwater flooding. Residents and business owners who are vulnerable to king tide flooding should be preparing now for high water. The highest tides are expected this weekend into the middle of next week.
